Your Guide

I took a walk in the woods and came out taller than the trees.

I'm Sarena...your Forest Therapy Guide

Every Summer as a little kid, I knew what my parents had in store for me…the dreaded kids camp (ugh!). My parents delighted in sending me off to some far away camp, deep into the forest, to learn how to build a campfire, canoe, sleep under the stars, hike until I had blisters on my feet, experience clean mountain air, write sappy homesick letters, and roast lots of fluffy marshmallows until I got a tummy ache. Ok, I may have also acquired some scrapes and bruises from climbing gigantic forest trees that were so tall, they reminded me of the Jolly Green Giant. Honestly, looking back now, those were the days! Seems that as an adult, I’m still doing a lot of the same things that I did back then, maybe just not climbing trees, but probably hugging them instead.
Now, as a mother of two adult children, it was important to me to share the love of nature with them when they were young, just as my parents tried to do with me (and it turns out they succeeded!). Raising kids can be a challenge being up against video games and trying to keep screen time in check. I totally get it! We got through it though and time shared in nature helped. It’s more important than ever to find the time as individuals and as a family, to go into the forest and just BE. Escape from the stresses of work, family and social pressures, internet, social media, cell phones and, just our fast paced world we now live in today.
I love being that resource for people to go to and guide them into another world and let all stresses fade away for a brief time and explore our beautiful surroundings in nature and experience the many benefits. I have seen and experienced the health benefits of forest bathing. My hope is that my clients do as well and share their experience with others and we can spread the forest love together.
